Lake Placid is located on the Guadalupe River one half mile southwest of the town of Seguin and begins in McQueeney. The reservoir was formed in 1928 by the construction of a dam on the river. Most of the lake is shallow with maximum depths of 30-35 feet near the dam. Lake Placid is a venue for outdoor recreation, including fishing, boating, and swimming.
Lake Placid comprises a wide variety of lake view homes. Buyers interested in locating in the area will find many properties with modern amenities and large outdoor living spaces, often with private, covered boat docks. Some lake homes have large upstairs patios for the best views of Lake Placid. Many homes on Lake Placid have oversized lots.
Lake Placid is becoming a great alternative to Lake Dunlap and Lake McQueeney as its home values are a little less typically than the other two lakes due to its lake size.
